CUMMIN, John, a Representative from Mifflin County; farmer; unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Mifflin County (1812, 1818); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1813, 1820, 1821, 1822, 1824); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1819-1820 term; reelected to the House for the 1826-1827, 1829-1830 and 1830-1831 terms; elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1837-1838).
