ALEXANDER, William, a Representative from Franklin County; born, 1767 in Fanette Township, Franklin County, Pa.; captain, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); unsuccessful campaign, coroner, Franklin County (1808); elected, commissioner, Franklin County (1810-1811); elected, sheriff, Franklin County (1811-1814); elected, auditor, Franklin County (1815-1817); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1819-1820, 1824-1825 and 1825-1826 terms; died, March 4, 1838 in Shirleysburg, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Shirley Home Cemetery, Shirleysburg, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
