STEELE, Clarence Doyle, a Representative from Armstrong County; born in Apollo, Armstrong County, Pa., October 26, 1921; graduated, Apollo High School; B.A., Temple University School of Business, 1949; LL.B., Temple University School of Law, 1952; served, "U.S.S. Altair," "U.S.S. Bunker Hill," United States Navy (1942-1945, World War II); attorney; elected, mayor, Apollo (1954-1961); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1966; served 2 more consecutive terms; unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the House (1972); judge, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board; treasurer, Armstrong County Democratic Committee; solicitor, Kiski Township Water Authority; solicitor, Apollo Ridge School Authority; died, December 19, 1999 in Homosassa Springs, Citrus County, Florida; interred at Burial Riverview Cemetery, Kiski Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
