KAUFMAN, Gerald, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., June 14, 1932; graduated, Kiski High School; B.A., Yale University, 1954; LL.B., Columbia University Law School, 1957; served, United States Army (1957); served, United States Army Reserve (6 years); lawyer; vice chairman, Allegheny County Council on Civil Rights; contributor, National Municipal League Reporter (March, 1968); consultant, Office of Economic Opportunity, Allegheny County; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1966; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1972); executive director, Pennsylvania Legal Services (1973-1976).
