MANBECK, Joseph Henry, Sr., a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Summit Station, Schuylkill County, Pa., October 18, 1906; graduated, Schuylkill Haven High School; B.S., Temple University; served, Pennsylvania National Guard (1923-1926); storekeeper, third class, United States Navy Reserve (1943-1945, World War II); car dealer; school director, Schuylkill Haven School District (1948-1955); school director, Pine Grove Area School District (1958-1972); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1963 term; re-elected to the House for the 1967, 1969 and 1971 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1965 and 1973 terms; died, September 22, 1996 in Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
