ALEXANDER, George W., a Representative from Clarion and Venango Counties; born in Clarion, Clarion County, Pa., October 28, 1904; graduated, Clarion High School; graduated, The Pennsylvania State University; graduated, Denison University; first lieutenant, United States Army (1942-1945, World War II); athletic director, Camp Wallace and Fort Sam Houston; outdoor writer, various newspapers and magazines; inspector, Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters (1927-1936); superintendent, Cook Forest Park, Pennsylvania Department of Forest and Waters (1939-1949); chair, Clarion County Republican Committee; member, Pennsylvania Electoral College (1956); chair, Clarion County Citizens for Eisenhower; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1962; reelected to 4 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House in the 1972 General election; died, May 16, 1992; interred, Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
