RUANE, Paul G., a Representative from Northumberland and Schuylkill Counties; born in Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pa., July 31, 1933; graduated, Shamokin High School; B.S., East Stroudsburg State Teachers College (now East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania), 1955; M.S., Bucknell University, 1959; private, 1st class, United States Army (1955-1957); served, United States Army Reserves; elected, Northumberland County Republican Executive Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1965 term and served 4 more consecutive terms; appointed, Special Committee to Investigate the Energy Crisis (1973); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the House (1974); died, August 23, 2000 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Edwards Cemetery, Coal Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
