BEREN, Daniel E., a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., November 3, 1929; attended Cheltenham High School and Pennington Preparatory School; B.A., Baldwin-Wallace College, 1952; LL.B., Temple University Law School, 1955; corporal, United States Army (1955-1957); partner, Beren, Deane & Clancy; judge of elections, Republican Party (1961-1962); member, Republican Party Committee (1962-1967); solicitor, Montgomery County, Institution District (1963-1966); chair, Montgomery County Republican Party Executive Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1967 term and served 4 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, chair, Special Committee to Review Juvenile Unrest and Gang Wars in the Philadelphia Area (1973-1974); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1976); attorney, Waters, Fleer, Cooper & Gallagher; attorney, Dilworth, Paxson, Kalish & Kauffman; partner, Baskin Flaherty Elliott Mannino & Beren, P.C.; chair emeritus, State Government Relations Section, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, P.C.
