SHUMAN, William O., a Representative from Franklin and Fulton Counties; born in Antrim Township, Franklin County, Pa., July 23, 1921; graduated, Greencastle High School; served, United States Army (1942-1945, World War II; Bronze Star recipient); employed, Frick Company, Waynesboro (17 years); assistant editor and business manager, Echo Pilot; president, Greencastle-Antrim Democratic Club; appointed, deputy chief clerk, Franklin County Commissioners (1957); elected, treasurer, Franklin County (1958-1961); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1965 term and served 6 more consecutive terms; died while in office, August 30, 1978 in Greencastle, Franklin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
