HALVERSON, Kenneth Shaffer, a Representative from Somerset County; born in Somerset, Somerset County, Pa., July 24, 1933; graduated, Somerset High School, 1951; attended, University of Pittsburgh; served, United States Army Security Agency (1953-1956); proprietor, Ken Halverson Insurance Agency; elected, justice of the peace, Somerset Township (1962-1967); former chair, Somerset County Young Republicans; vice chair, Somerset Township Municipal Authority; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1967 term and served 6 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Special Committee to Investigate the Energy Crisis (1973); appointed, Select Committee to Investigate the State Water Plan (1974); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1980); real estate agent; died, January 21, 2021 in Somerset, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
