KURY, Franklin L., a Representative from Montour and Northumberland Counties; born in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pa., October 15, 1936; graduated, Sunbury High School, 1954; A.B. Trinity College, 1958; LL.B. University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1961; served, United States Army; served, United States Army Reserves; attorney; deputy attorney general, Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General (1962); congressional aide to Hon. George M. Rhodes (1963-1966); elected as a Democrat for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1967 term and served 2 more consecutive terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1973-1980); not a candidate for reelection, State Senate (1980); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Treasurer (1996); partner, Reed Smith LLP (1983-2003); Malady & Wooten (2004-present); guest lecturer.
