LYNCH, Francis Joseph, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., August 9, 1921; graduated, Roman Catholic High School; attended, Banks Business College; attended, St. John’s Night School; served, Infantry, United States Army (1942-1946, World War II); real estate salesman; tavern owner; sales tax investigator, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (1960-1962); clerk, Board of Revision of Taxes, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (1962-1965); leader, 15th Ward Democratic Committee; elected, alternate delegate, Democratic National Convention (1964); member, Democratic State Committee (1971-1972); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1967 term and served 3 consecutive terms thereafter; resigned from the House, March 26, 1973; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (March 26, 1973-1993); appointed, board, Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) (1989-1993); died while in office of the Senate, May 31, 1993 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
