REED, John, a Representative from Washington County; born, March 14, 1787 in Mount Pleasant Township, Washington County, Pa.; graduated, Jefferson College (now Washington & Jefferson College), 1806; farmer; elected, commissioner, Washington County (1814-1815); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1817-1818 term; reelected to the House for 4 more consecutive terms; justice of the peace, Mount Pleasant Township; died, December 20, 1878 in  Pennsylvania; interred, Venice Cemetery, McDonald, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
