KEYS, James, a Representative from Washington County; born, circa 1777 in Cumberland County, Pa.; farmer; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1817, 1820, 1821); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1818-1819 and 1819-1820 terms; reelected to the House for the 1822-1823, 1823-1824 and 1824-1825 terms; died, March 9, 1853 in Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Burgettstown, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
