CRAIG, Walter, a Representative from Washington County; born, December 1, 1786 in Ireland; served, Pennsylvania Militia (War of 1812); surveyor; trader; farmer; elected, commissioner, Washington County (1815-1816); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1818-1819 and 1819-1820 terms; elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1837-1838); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1843-1845); merchant; died, February 10, 1875 in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; interred, Cross Creek Cemetery, Cross Creek, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
