CARROLL, Michael B., a Representative from Lackawanna, Luzerne and Monroe Counties; born in Avoca, Luzerne County, Pa., October 25, 1962; graduated, Pittston Area High School, 1980; B.A., business administration, University of Scranton; assistant legislative liaison, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; assistant director, Regional Equipment Center; district office director, Pennsylvania Congressman Paul Kanjorski; chief of staff, Pennsylvania State Representative John Yudichak; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 2007 term; reelected to serve 7 more consecutive terms; appointed, board, Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) (2011-2022); legislative fellow, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (2010-2011); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2022); appointed, Secretary of Transportation, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (2023-present).
