SNYDER (SCHNEIDER), Jacob U., a Representative from Berks County; born, August 28, 1779 in Exeter Township, Berks County, Pa.; printer; printer and publisher, Der Unpartheyische Readinger Alder (1797-1800), Der Readinger Adler (1800-1802); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1806, 1807, 1816); elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1808-1809 term; unsuccessful campaign, auditor, Berks County (1809): manager, Rockland Forge furnace; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1832-1833 and 1833-1834 terms; died, July 11, 1835 in Oley Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oley Cemetery, Spangsville, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
