WELLS, Isaiah, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, 1758; private, 2nd Company, 1st Battalion, Philadelphia Militia (1780, Revolutionary War); brigadier general, 1st Brigade, 2nd Division, Pennsylvania Militia (1812-1814, War of 1812); unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Montgomery County (1798, 1822); elected, sheriff, Montgomery County (1801, 1810); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1818-1819, 1819-1820 and 1820-1821 terms; died, May 9, 1836 in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint John Episcopal Church Cemetery, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
