KORTZ, William C., II, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., on December 15, 1954; graduated, McKeesport Senior High School, 1973; B.A., criminology and political science, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 1977; attended, business administration, Duquesne University; operations manager, U.S. Steel Corporation, Irvin Plant; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 2006; reelected to the House for 6 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee on Property Tax Reform (2012); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Governor (2010); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2020).
