COLEMAN, Edward, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, July 4, 1792 in Elizabethtown, Lancaster County, Pa.; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1818-1819 and 1819-1820 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1820-1824); unsuccessful campaign for reelection, Pennsylvania State Senate (1824); engaged, ironworks industry; proprietor, Conestoga Navigation Company; vice president, Institution or the Instruction of the Blind, Philadelphia; died, June 6, 1841 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
