(1816); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1819-1820, 1820-1821 and 1821-1822 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1822-1823 term; elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (1828); elected, United States Congress (1829-1831); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to Congress (1831); published, The Canal and Portage Register (1836-1838); died, September 22, 1850 in Alexandria, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery Alexandria, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
