MITCHELL, Dr. Robert, a Representative from Armstrong, Indiana and Jefferson Counties; born, 1787 in Carlisle, Cumberland, Pa.; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Thomas Jefferson University), 1810; physician; druggist; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1819-1820, 1820-1821, 1821-1822 and 1827-1828 terms; reelected to the House as an Anti-Mason for the 1829-1830 term; proprietor, saw and flour mill; died, on April 14, 1863 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, White Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
