BARCLAY, Samuel Moore, a Representative from Bedford County; born, October 17, 1802 in Bedford, Bedford County, Pa.; attended, Bedford Academy; major, Bedford Blues, Pennsylvania Militia (1832); farmer; attorney (1826-1852); elected as a National Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1833-1834 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1837-1841); died, January 3, 1852 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Presbyterian Graveyard, Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
