SCHELL, Peter, a Representative from Bedford County; born, August 1, 1784 in Montgomery County, Pa.; merchant; justice of the peace, Napier; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1820-1821, 1821-1822 and 1822-1823 terms; appointed, associate judge, Bedford County (1831-1838, 1842-1843); elected, burgess, Bedford (1832); trustee, Marshall College (now, Franklin and Marshall College); died, October 28, 1862 In Bedford, Bedford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Schellsburg Cemetery, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
