MOORHEAD, James, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, June 12, 1792 in Montgomery Township, Franklin County, Pa.; major, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania Militia; farmer; proprietor, stage coach line; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1830); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1831-1832 and 1833-1834 term; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1836); died, November 11, 1858 in Kittanning, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; interred, New Alexandria Presbyterian Church Cemetery, New Alexandria, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
