MURRY, James, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, April 5, 1786; captain, Cambria Guards, Pennsylvania Militia; appointed, deputy surveyor, Westmoreland County (1814); farmer; engaged, real estate; elected, State Democratic Convention (1817, 1823, 1835); appointed, delegate, National Democratic Convention (1824, 1829); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1834-1835 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1835); died, July 14, 1858 in Murrysville, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Murrysville Cemetery, Murrysville, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
