RUGH, Jacob, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, February 15, 1761 in Northampton County, Pa.; farmer; private, Westmoreland County Rangers, Pennsylvania Militia (Revolutionary War); elected, director, Westmoreland Bank (1814); elected, commissioner, Westmoreland County (1817); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1820-1821 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1821); died, February 6, 1845 in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old German Cemetery, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; removed to Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
