DUNN, Samuel, a Representative from Franklin County; born, circa 1794 in Pennsylvania; served, 64th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia; captain, 5th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); brigadier general, Pennsylvania Milita; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1820-1821 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1821-1822 term; manager, Mt. Pleasant Furnace; elected, commissioner, Franklin County (1832-1833); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Carrick (1834-1843); judge, Franklin County (1847); engaged, Iron manufacturing; died, June 13, 1869 in Dalton, Whitfield County, Georgia.
