HAYS, Adam, a Representative from Greene County; born, circa 1782; elected, sheriff, Greene County (1817-1820); elected as a Democrat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1820-1821, 1821-1822, 1822-1823 and 1825-1826 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1823, 1826); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1824); died, February 29, 1848; interred, Monument Park, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania (defuct); removed to Green Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
