MONTELIUS, John, a Representative from Juniata, Mifflin and Union Counties; born, January 7, 1784, Pennsylvania; farmer; elected, commissioner, Union County (1826); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1835-1836 term; reelected to the House for the 1838-1839 term; gubernatorial appointee, associate judge, Union County (1845-1850); died, March 30, 1864 in Mifflinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mifflinburg Cemetery, Mifflinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.
