WILT, Raymond Edmund, Sr., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Ross Township, Allegheny County, Pa., December 5, 1907; attended, Pittsburgh Public Schools and Pittsburgh Academy; president, trucking firm, Ray Wilt, Incorporated; buyer, grocery company; policeman, Ross Township; elected, constable and justice of the peace (21 years); chair, Ross Township Republican Committee; elected, Ross Township Zoning Board; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1940); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1950; reelected to serve 9 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Local Government Commission (1957-1968; chair, 1963-1964, 1967-1968); appointed, Pennsylvania Lottery Commission; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1970); died, April 24, 1978 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
