Russell, a Representative from Monroe, Pike, and Wayne Counties; born in Bushkill, Pike County, Pa., April 28, 1898; B.S., The Pennsylvania State (University) College, 1924; M.A., Columbia University, 1928; school teacher (16 years); farmer; elected, treasurer, Pike County (1939-1943); elected, prothonotary, register of wills, recorder of deeds and clerk of courts, Pike County (1947-1952); elected, commissioner, Pike County (1953-1959); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1959 term and served 5 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1971 term; died, August 24, 1981; interred, Sand Hill Cemetery, Shoemakers, Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
