McANENY, Joseph J., a Representative from Cambria County; born in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pa., July 20, 1924; graduated, Johnstown Catholic (Bishop McCort) High School; B.S., University of Nebraska, 1949; LL.B., University of Nebraska College of Law, 1951; served, United States Army (1943-1946, World War II: Bronze Star recipient); manager, McAneny Insurance Agency; member, Johnstown City Planning Committee (1963); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1965 term and served 2 more consecutive terms; appointed, Speaker's Committee on Tax Reform (1970); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1970); chairman, McAneny Brothers, Inc. (1979-2007); appointed, Pennsylvania Workers Compensation Appeals Board (1988); died, February 19, 2007 in Westmont, Cambria County, Pennsylvania; interred, Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
