MIFFLIN, Edward Biddle, a Representative from Delaware County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., September 26, 1923; attended Swarthmore High School and Westtown School, 1941; B.A., Swarthmore College, 1948; navigator, Air Corps, United States Army (1943-1945, World War II; Air Force Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster); first lieutenant, United States Air Force Reserve (1946-1951); contributing baseball statistics author, Sporting News, St. Louis; textile sales executive; secretary-treasurer, director and vice president, textile firms; member, Delaware County Republican Committee (1958-1962); tax assessor, Delaware County (1960-1963); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1962; reelected in 1964, 1966, 1968 and 1970; died while in office, January 3, 1971 in Middletown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Springfield Friends Burial Ground, Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
