LOVE, Robert, Sr., a Representative from Washington County; born, July of 1796; major, Pennsylvania Militia; farmer; elected, commissioner, Washington County (1827); appointed, delegation to Improve the Monongahela River (1833); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1832-1833, 1833-1834, 1836-1837, 1837-1838, 1838-1839 and 1840 terms; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1841, 1844, 1849); appointed, member, Committee of Vigilance, Washington County (1847); director, Monongahela Bridge (1852); horticulturist; died, April 7, 1860 in Nottingham, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mingo Cemetery, Finleyville, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
