LAWSON, Paul Melvin, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Franklin, Venango County, Pa., January 29, 1915; attended, Hampton University; A.A., arbitration, The Pennsylvania State University, Rutgers, and Cornell; machinist mate, United States Navy (1942-1945, World War II); chair, international trustee board, UAW-AFL-CIO; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election, April 26, 1960; Sworn-In, June 6, 1960 to serve the remaining 1959 term; reelected for 5 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1971 term; died, February 10, 1988 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
