BURKARDT, Robert F., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., October 17, 1923; graduated, Central Catholic High School; A.B., University of Pittsburgh, 1947; LL.B and J.D., University of Pittsburgh Law School, 1950; served, Infantry (1943), Army Air Corps (1943-1945), United States Army (World War II); lieutenant colonel, JAG Corps, United States Air Force Reserve; attorney; special assistant attorney general, Pennsylvania Attorney General's office (1964); chair, Allegheny County Republican Primary Campaign (1966); coordinator, Allegheny County General Election (1966); legal staff , Republican Executive Committee; unsuccessful campaign, judge, Common Pleas Court; unsuccessful campaign, commissioner, Allegheny County (1967); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1968, 1970, and 1972; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1974); died, December 1, 2006; interred in Oakmont-Verona Cemetery, Oakmont, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
