ROSS, John, a Representative from Mifflin County; born, 1810 in Mifflin County, Pa.; major, 4th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1862, Civil War); farmer; engaged, sand mining; superintendent, Portage Railroad; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1851 and 1852 terms; died, December 13, 1876 in McVeytown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.
