BATES, George, a Representative from Juniata and Mifflin Counties; born, circa 1821 in Pennsylvania; farmer; elected, auditor, Armagh Township, Mifflin County (1858); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1860 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1861 term; reelected to the House for the 1873 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1874 term.
