STACKPOLE, Edward Henry Harrison, a Representative from Mifflin County; born, August 11, 1836 in McVeytown, Mifflin County, Pa.; served, 33rd Regiment, Fourth Militia, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1862, Civil War); blacksmith; school director, McVeytown; elected, council, McVeytown; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1876 and 1877; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1878); appointed, watchman, office of the Pennsylvania State Treasurer (1881-1882); superintendent, public buildings and grounds, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Department of General Services (1883-1890); died, December 5, 1890 in McVeytown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.
