ZEARFOSS, Herbert K., a Representative from Delaware County; born, October 13, 1929, in West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, Pa.; graduated, Middleburg High School; A.B., Bucknell University, 1951; attended, Yale Law School; J.D., American University Washington College of Law, 1958; lieutenant commander, United States Navy Reserve (1953-1967); partner, Fetter and Zearfoss; assistant counsel, Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Company (1960-1967); justice of the peace (1966-1967); officer, Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania (1967-1968); registered lobbyist; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1969 term and served 4 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Special Committee to Study the Public Employee Relations Act (of 1970) (1973); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1979 term; senior vice president and general counsel, Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Company (1978-1982); senior vice president, secretary, and general counsel, Provident Indemnity Life Insurance (1982-1991); assistant general counsel and assistant secretary, Teleflex, Inc. (1991-2001); died, April 8, 2008 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
