VALICENTI, Americo Joseph, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Braddock, Allegheny County, Pa., May 16, 1923; attended, Braddock High School; served, 110th Infantry, 28th Division, United States Army (World War II; Purple Heart recipient); steelworker; president, United Steel Workers of America, Local 1219; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1968; served 4 more consecutive terms; unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the House (1978); died, January 10, 1995.
