HOFFMAN, George Strunk, a Representative from Mifflin County; born, January 4, 1843 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pa.; attended, Lewistown Academy; clerk; engaged, grain business; proprietor, Hoffman & Sons, coal dealers; chair, Mifflin County Republican Committee; elected, burgess, Lewistown (1875, 1880, and 1881); member, school board, Lewistown (1879-1882); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1884; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1886); died, August 8, 1902 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Marks Cemetery, Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.
