YOHN, William Hendricks, Jr., a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pa., November 20, 1935; graduated, Pottstown High School; A.B., Princeton University, 1957; LL.B., Yale Law School, 1960; National Judicial College, University of Nevada at Reno, 1981; served, United States Marine Corps Reserves (1960-1966, active duty, 1960-1961; American Spirit of Honor Medal recipient, 1960); research assistant, United States Senator John Sherman Cooper (1959); attorney, Wells, Campbell, Reynier & Yohn (1961-1971); Assistant District Attorney, Montgomery County (1962-1965); teacher, Commercial Law and Negotiable Instruments, American Institute of Banking (1963-1966); director, Montgomery Bar Association (1967-1970); legislative counsel to the Majority Leader, Republican Caucus, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1967-1968); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1969 term and served 5 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1981 term; attorney, Binder, Yohn & Kalis (1971-1981); elected, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Montgomery County (1981-1991); elected, judge, United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania (1991-present; senior judge, 2003-present); director, Federal Judicial Center (1999-2003).
