SCHEAFFER, John E., a Representative from Cumberland County; born in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pa., August 28, 1916; graduated, Harrisburg Academy; attended, University of Alabama; corporal, United States Army (1941-1945, World War II; Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star recipient); sales executive; member, Cumberland County Republican Finance Committee and Executive Committee; chairman, Lower Allen Township Republican Committee; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1971 term and served 4 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee to Review Insurance Regulations (1974); appointed, Select Committee on Three Mile Island (1979); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1980); died, March 29, 1990 in Camp Hill, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
