EMERSON, Junius Marcus, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Anderson, Anderson County, SC, June 23, 1926; graduated, Northeast High School; attended, Temple Preparatory School; attended, LaSalle College; served, 82nd Airborne Division, United States Army (1945-1948, World War II); real estate salesman; inheritance tax clerk, Philadelphia Board of Revision of Taxes (1954-1964); tavern owner; member, 28th Ward Democratic Committee (11 years; 2 years, secretary; 1 year, president); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1964, 1966 and 1980; unsuccessful campaigns for reelection to the House (1968, 1974, 1978, 1982, 1984); died, April 23, 1992 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
