TRUE, Katherine, "Katie," a Representative from Lancaster County; born, January 16, 1941 in the city of Baltimore, Baltimore County, Md.; graduated, J.P. McCaskey High School, 1958; TELLS tutor; Youth Director for Pennsylvanians AWARE (1990-1991); founder, Kids Saving Kids; founder, Parents Caring About Kids; author, Substance Abuse Training Manual; elected as a Republican to the 37th District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1992; reelected to 3 more consecutive terms; appointed, Select Committee on Nonpreferred Appropriations (1994); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Auditor General (2000); executive director, Pennsylvania Commission for Women (2000-2001); reelected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives’ 41st District in 2002; reelected to serve 3 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (2000, 2010); appointed, commissioner, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, Pennsylvania Department of State (2011-2013); Secretary of Legislative Affairs, Pennsylvania Office of the Governor (2013-2014).
