FOSTER, William W., a Representative from Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, and Wayne Counties; born in Cherry Ridge, Centre County, Pa., July 22, 1922; graduated, Honesdale High School, 1940; served, United States Marine Corps (1942-1945, World War II: Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient); owner and operator, Wayne Tractor and Equipment Company; member, Wayne County Republican Executive Committee; elected, commissioner, Wayne County (1960-1971); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1971 term and served 6 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Select Committee to Investigate the State Water Plan (1974); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1985 term; died, January 25, 2000 in Honesdale, Wayne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Glen Dyberry Cemetery, Honesdale, Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
