LETTERMAN, Russell P., a Representative from Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, and Lycoming Counties; born in Milesburg, Centre County, Pa., March 8, 1933; graduated, Bellefonte High School, 1951; graduated, Professional Barber School; served, United States Navy (1952-1955, Korean War); barber; auditor; professional baseball player; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1971 term and served 9 more consecutive terms; appointed, Special Committee to Investigate Closing of the Blossburg State Hospital (1973); appointed, Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee (1981-1990); died while in office, February 8, 1990 in State College, Centre County, Pennsylvania; interred, Advent Cemetery, Milesburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
