MITCHELL, Dr. James W., a Representative from Mifflin County; born in Middle Creek, Snyder County, Pa., August 10, 1870; M.D., Medico-Chirurgical College (now University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine), 1898; physician; elected, coroner, Mifflin County (1915-1919); board member, Department of Health, Mifflin County (1916-1919); board member, Department of Education, Mifflin County (1919-1920); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1920; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1922); died, May 1, 1928; interred, Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.
